Huffpost headline - Senate Confirms Emil Bove, Trump's ‘Enforcer,’ To A Lifetime Federal Judgeship - Bove faced credible allegations of telling DOJ attorneys to defy court orders. Republicans confirmed him to a seat on a U.S. appeals court anyway.
In a more innocent time when we respected law and order, judges and courts we could laugh at “Here Comes the Judge” a 1968 song by Pigmeat Markham and as comedy meme used by Sammy Davis Jr. on Rowan & Martin's Laugh In.
It was a song about ending the war in Vietnam, but it was also a nearly rap song that reflected on the power of the court:

It would become a Motown Classic with Billie Jean “Shorty” Brown who was the originator of the saying and inspiration for Flip Wilson and Rowan and Martin. She was not a recording artist at Motown at the time.
Now the humor is gone from the comedy meme and the threat is real. “Here Comes The Judge” is now a warning to the innocent and a get out of Jail Free card for the guilty.
Now the GOP has made another bargain with the devil (Flip also was famous for saying, “The devil made me do it.”). Emil Bove is an evil man. By a vote of 50 – 49 he was confirmed for a lifetime appointment as judge in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit which encompasses Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
Known as trump’s enforcer this is another assault on our judicial system. We are no longer a nation of law and order – instead the laws are becoming whatever the trumpsters order.
“As a senior DOJ official, Bove ordered the firings of federal prosecutors who worked on criminal cases stemming from the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection. He ordered career prosecutors to dismiss corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams in a clear quid pro quo deal. He also called for the firings of senior FBI officials who were involved in the Jan. 6 probes.” (Huffpost)
Flip Wilson also said, “Violence is a tool of the ignorant.”
Despite testimony that should have derailed the nomination only Lisa Murkowski (where were you on the big bill?) and Susan Collins joined the democrats in this travesty. So much shame – so much destruction of our nation and the values we were supposed to represent to the world and I do not know what we can do about this except keep pressure and prepare for the next election – the people who have taken over the GOP have no ears for us and no respect for our nation’s history.
